With a successful forty plus year career behind her, you might think that Gloria Gaynor would sit back and enjoy life…and enjoying life she is! She has a new studio record (“Testimony”) out and continues to perform. She says that she just loves to sing and, unlike some “divas” out there, having a million demands and being late for your own shows is disrespectful to the fans. After all, performers are nothing without their fans.
Gloria Gaynor’s latest record is considered a gospel album and has, in fact, been nominated for Grammys in the Best Roots Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performance/Song categories! To me, it was good old fashioned R&B and I was bouncing to the beat like everyone else in the room. It was wonderful to see that Gaynor is not resting on the astronomical success of “I Will Survive” and continues to put out great music!
