Dream pop band Moira hit Paste Studios yesterday and debuted some new music. Originally from Dayton, this DIY band was based in Cincinnati for a period of time before returning home recently. In speaking with lead vocalist Alicia Grodecki, the recent shooting in Dayton has greatly affected the band since they had performed often at Blind Bob’s Bar, the scene of that horrific event. As they’re working on their new record, it lends a somber mood to their songwriting.
Moira opened their set with their new single “Demons”. They recorded the video themselves in a friend’s warehouse in Dayton in 30 degree weather! They followed with “Blacking Out”, a song from their 2015 EP “Asleep/Repeat/Awake” and closed with another new song “Daisies” before heading out for some pizza and a bit of sightseeing since it was drummer Patrick’s first time in NYC!
