Paste Studios presents Ninet Tayeb – Aug 15, 2019

One of the first artists to ever perform at Paste Studios, Israeli singer/songwriter Ninet Tayeb, graced these offices for the third time, playing two originals and two covers.  She opened with “Self-Destructive Mind”, the first song she wrote when she and husband Joseph moved to Los Angeles from Israel.  It seems the sun and palm trees was not conducive to happy poppy music since she’s a self-proclaimed “winter person”. After following with “Child”, she covered Joni Mitchell’s “Woodstock” on the 50th anniversary of that legendary concert.

Heavily inspired by Jeff Buckley, Tayeb picked up guitar when she was 25.  When asked if she had a Buckley cover to perform, she was wary but, on the fly, closed her set with a cover of a cover; Buckley covered “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen.

Tayeb will be touring with the Zombies starting Monday in Ocean City, NJ.  All info can be found at her website www.ninetayeb.com.
