Since I just saw Charly Bliss last week at Paste Studio (see coverage here), there isn’t much more I can say that I haven’t already said. But this headlining show at Webster Hall had a different feeling to it. Opening for Charly Bliss were Chloe mk, winner of the Voice season 13, and singer/songwriter Samantha Urbani.

Chloe mk only recently changed her name from Chloe Kohanski and released her first single “To Be Young” under the new name. Her energy was a great way to kick off the evening.

When Samantha Urbani hit the stage, she set the groove and had the crowd dancing to her beats. A true artist, she writes and sings music, she produces, she dj’s and she even designs clothing. With her and fast rising bassist/dj Blue DeTiger on the stage at the same time, it was one big party!

The kids from Charly Bliss have really come a long way since performance art summer camp during middle school (which Spencer Fox and Dan Shure attended). In chatting with some of the attendees of the show, some had become big fans after seeing Charly Bliss open for other bands. They definitely have the kind of energy and fun about them that is so needed these days. You could see the emotion as lead vocalist Eva Hendricks hugged her brother Sam and other bandmates in between songs. It was an incredible homecoming.
