Tokyo Police Club frontman Dave Monks has been a busy man. After recording TPC with the band in 2017, he was already taking those first steps towards his second solo record “On A Wave” which was released on October 18th. Monks stopped by Paste Studio to play some songs and talk about the new record.
It seems he was in the middle of a complete life change when he started writing songs for his solo project. A relationship had ended and he had moved from New York City back to Toronto. But there were a lot of ideas and music brewing in his head. Working with guitarist/significant other Alyson McNamara, the record slowly came together.
