After a video shoot earlier in the day, the snow coming down hard and ever, and Santa-con in full swing, it would have been easy to go home and just relax for the evening. However, I needed to head down to Rockwood Music Hall to see sister/brother duo Jocelyn and Chris Arndt play because they rock! I had seen them perform last year when they came on after a band I was shooting. Happy circumstances!
Last year, both were still students at Harvard University. Jocelyn has since graduated and Chris is scheduled to complete his studies in 2018. Even with they young age, they have released two records, the latest “Go” just this past May. Their soulful bluesy rock is catchy with Jocelyn supplying the powerful vocals and Chris providing kick-ass guitar.
They started the set with “Footprints on the Moon”, their recent hit single. Then they played four songs from their first LP before closing out with three songs from “Go” and a cover of Tracey Chapman’s “Give Me One Reason”. After encouragement from the crowd, they came back for an encore.
Definitely check out this young band as they continue to evolve.
