Pandora typically puts together two events for the holidays: One is a massive “holiday party” at Pier 36 with at least 3 performers. The other is usually a smaller event but with a higher profile artist. Last year was John Legend on the Lower East Side. This year, Luke Bryan took the stage and performed a full set, including some songs from his new record.
With an open bar, photo ops, and free t-shirts, activity was buzzing in the venue before the show started. When Luke took the stage, the crowd went nuts. Security obviously set the barricades further back than he liked, so he asked the crowd to push the barricades 6 feet closer and his fans quickly obliged, with everyone jostling for better position. I think there are a lot more country fans in NYC than I could have imagined since everyone seemed to know the words to the songs, even to a couple of songs off the new record.
Looks like Pandora had another successful year with this event and I look forward to attending next year.
