Superstar Patti Labelle picked a great evening to play the beautiful outdoor ArtPark on Tuesday, June 21st, and she was in fine form. Regularly engaging with and waving to individual members of the audience, she showed that she still has the pipes, with a little support from her excellent backup singers. She even danced a bit onstage which is not too bad at the ripe age of seventy eight! She didn’t perform all her hit singles but did thrill the crowd with “The Right Kinda Lover” and “On My Own”. Of course the biggest cheers were saved for the finale “Lady Marmalade”. It’s pretty incredible that she’s still out there touring and I was just happy to have been there to see a legend perform.
