It’s been a rough two years for many but definitely not for UK artist beabadoobee (aka Beatrice Laus aka Bea Kristi). Besides releasing her amazing critically acclaimed debut album “Fake It Flowers” in 2020, she also collaborated with The 1975’s Matty Healy and George Daniel on 2021’s EP “Our Extended Play” and, on Saturday December 11th, completed headlining tour through the US. Pretty prolific for a not-so-typical 21 yr old. Stage AE in Pittsburgh was the site of the last show on the tour and she closed it out in grand fashion.

The first opener and fellow label mates BLACKSTARKIDS, from Missouri, consists of The Babe Gabe, TyFaizon, and Deiondre. It’s hard to lock them down to a specific genre but their high energy show was a treat. Keep an eye out for these up and comers and listen to their recent album “Puppies Forever”.

Former Vine sensation and internet personality Christian Leave (aka Christian Akridge) came on next. Many of the fans in the crowd, mostly made up of teenaged girls, were definitely there for Leave, whose EP “Days Like Lost Dogs” was released a little over a month ago. His backing band, made up of members of LA rock band Starcrawler, especially guitarist Henry Cash, provided a lot of energy onstage.

A long grueling tour takes a toll even on the youngest performers. Being the last show of the tour, beabadoobee seemed to start the show a little mellow. After she shared a long kiss with bassist Eliana Sewell (eliciting huge cheers from the crowd) during, of course, “She Plays Bass”, the energy cranked up to 150%! She closed out the show with Cologne, from the latest EP, as members of all three bands joined her on stage to dance. Returning to London to get some well-deserved R&R and celebrate the holidays, we hope to see her in 2022 with some new music!
