I’m jumping ahead to 2011…
Lipton and Pandora sponsored this show at Chelsea Pier. Most of the crowd was definitely not there to see the bands, Train with Keaton Simons opening. This is the only problem I have with some of these corporate events. You get a lot of people there drinking and talking loudly…very rude.
Train was definitely a good time and Pat Monahan is a funny guy. They played the fan favorites including “Drops of Jupiter”, “Hey Soul Sister”, and “Marry Me”. They also pulled some girls up on stage to dance at one point. I understand it’s something they always do. To settle their nerves, he suggested that they imagine the crowd is naked, “except for that guy” and he pointed at me. Like I said…funny guy.
Oh yeah, chatted with Hector Maldonado, the touring bass player and snagged both a setlist and a couple of guitar picks.
