Caroline Vreeland gets the party started at Mercury Lounge – Mar. 4, 2020

Today may be International Women’s Day but a few days ago on Wednesday, March 4th, female artists helped Mercury Lounge celebrate early. Two Rochester based bands with female leads, Roses & Revolutions with singer/keyboardist Alyssa Coco and KOPPS with singer Patricia Patrón, were the co-headliners but, like me, many were here for opener Caroline Vreeland.

The multi-talented singer and model Vreeland kicked things off with a bang. The grand-daughter of famed Vogue editor Diana Vreeland, the Miami-based crooner is a force on stage and on the internet and has recently released her debut album “Notes on Sex and Wine”. She had the crowd eating out of the palm of her hand as she performed songs from her record as well as a couple of covers. She even brought Roses & Revolutions on stage with her as they did a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams”. As she closed out her set, she invited everyone to her after-party on Delancey. You can definitely see how effortlessly she draws people into her circle.
